Apple Reinvents the Wheel

Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard

This is the Onion so don't get excited, it isn't happening. The video is funny as hell, though. I like the commentators final sentence. "It's unknown if the Wheel will catch on in the business world, where people use computers for actual work and not just dicking around."

The Horror of it All

Experts estimate that, by 10 p.m. Tuesday night, Blume had survived exposure to approximately 1,700 advertising images of epic banality, at least 35 emotionless interactions with complete strangers without making any real human contact, and more than 25,000 moments of soul-crushing inner emptiness throughout the almost day-long struggle. In addition, he also surmounted the onslaught of more than 150 separate anxiety-producing forces, including credit card debt, weight gain, hair loss, sexual inferiority, loneliness, a dead-end job, geographical isolation from extended family, virus-laden spam, the need to keep his cell phone charged, in-store Muzak, mortality, mounting laundry and dishes, his cable bill, indefinable longing, fear of terrorism, online gossip, the unavoidable certainty of his own unimportance, nostalgia for a past that never was, severe lower-back pain, and general ennui.

Read the full article for a complete list of what this man was forced to survive in a single day - it's HORRIBLE!

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Proof positive that the Flying Spaghetti Monster exists! After all, how could someone picture It so vividly if it wasn't real?

This has been put up outside a Tennessee courthouse:

A sculpture of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the goofball deity cooked up to protest a Kansas legal battle over evolution, went on display outside a courthouse in Cumberland County, Tennessee, late last month.

I bet most Christians won't understand what this means and the few that do will be insulted.

Heh heh.

George Carlin: Still Funny After All These Years

George Carlin on religion and rights, and stupid shit somebody made up. He's getting a bit old but his humor is still sharp. His genius lies in cutting through the layers of bullshit and showing us the brutal, sharp and horrible truth underneath. Then making us laugh about it.

Credit goes to Pharyngula, where I first saw this.

Stupid Citizens

Jay Leno talks to the people on the streets and asks questions that are on the citizenship test. It's scary that these people can vote. He jokes they are are deported for getting all the answers wrong, if only that were true.

At the very least we should make people take the citizenship test before being allowed to be a registered voter.

Senator Craig

Let's face it, he handled that "I'm not gay!" press conference all wrong, we all know he's lying. Does he really not know we all know he's lying? But here is a great video on how he should have handled it from British TV, they have more experience with these things:

Special thanks to Long Live the Village Green for the link to Brain Police who had the link to YouTube.

Biologists Helping Bookstores

This a blog about a biologist in Orange County who has taken it upon himself to rearrange the books on the shelves.

Particularly Intelligent Design books that are placed in the Science section. He quite properly removes them and places them in the Religion section, but he doesn't pick only on Christians, he also moved Hitchens' book, "God is not Great" over to the philosophy section.

This is unacceptable, and something must be done. Booksellers are not scientists, maybe we shouldn't expect them to be able to discern between science and books desperately trying to wrap themselves in scientific credibility. I, however, am a scientist - and I can clearly see when an error has been made when stocking the shelves of the science section.

It is my mission to correctly re-shelve books to the appropriate section of the bookstore.

I would think he's only helping out the bookstores, after all, anyone who would read Behe wouldn't have any reason to be in the science section.
